Swahili Lessons

They have begun! It's going to be tougher then I thought but with a bit of effort I think I'll get a handle on it. I'm not too bad at pronouncing words which I learned using my Lonely Planet guide. My friend Nadine has started to teach me how sentences are framed and spoken. It's alot to take in at once. During the next week I have to learn 10 verbs and 10 nouns and then she'll teach me how to use them with different tenses, prefixes and pronouns. I hope to have the basics down before I leave because it's going to make my transition just a little easier. Maybe by the next time I see you (unless it's tomorrow) I'll be able to speak a few sentences! :)

PS. I go for an MRI tomorrow. Please pray that the test goes well and the results are favourable.

T - 11 weeks or so

It's been a busy week.

I've been working hard finishing up a few remaining Freelance Projects. The money I make from them will be going straight into the trip. Even though I love doing freelance design work I'm giving them up so that I can focus entirely on planning and preparing for this year-long trip! I know the time is going to fly by and I'll be on the plane before you know it!

This week, I'm working on researching venues to show a movie entitled, Engata. It's a documentary, which Nadine was apart of this past year, about the Maasai people who are a nomadic tribe within northern Tanzania. Nadine and I are hoping to bring it to a local theatre... more about this to come!

I'm also putting together another fundraiser. It will be a White Elephant Sale (ie. a luncheon and gently-used-items sale) to take place on Sunday, March 25th at 3 p.m. (Location: TBA). If you have anything to contribute please let me know and I'd be happy to take the items off your hands.

This past week I had some more blood work done and I get the results on Tuesday. Please pray that I get good news!

Until next time,

Cynthia
